Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic English teacher to instruct an honors-level class for academically motivated high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from various schools across the United States. This role involves engaging students in a stimulating academic environment and fostering their love for literature.
The teacher will:
- Regularly assess students through writing assignments, tests, and exams.
- Provide instruction in the interpretation and analysis of diverse literary works, including novels, short stories, plays, and poems.
- Cover key topics such as narratology, grammar and syntax, vocabulary building, and essay writing methodology.
Requirements
- Exceptional English writing and speaking skills: Native or C2 level.
- Bachelor of Arts in English Teaching or Comparative Literature.
- Master's or PhD degrees are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong teaching background in American and British literature, along with experience in developing US high school curricula.
- Proven experience in developing and refining students' writing skills, preferably within US school systems.
- Advisory responsibility for 4-5 students.
- Outdoor experience such as hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing is preferred but not required.
