Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to teach an honors level English class to academically motivated high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from a diverse array of schools across the United States.
- The teacher will conduct regular assessments through writing assignments, tests, and exams.
- Instruction will focus on the interpretation and analysis of various literary works, including novels, short stories, plays, and poems.
- Topics covered will include narratology, grammar and syntax, vocabulary building, and essay writing methodology.
Requirements
- Fluent English writing and speaking skills, at a native or C2 level.
- A Bachelor of Arts in English teaching or Comparative Literature.
- Master's or PhD degrees are preferred but not mandatory.
- A strong teaching background in American and British literature along with US high school curriculum development.
- Proven experience in developing and refining students' writing skills (preferably in US schools).
- Advisory responsibility for 4-5 students.
- Outdoor experience in hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing is preferred but not essential.
