Job Opportunity: R&D Engineer - Mechanical Design (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking an R&D Engineer specializing in Mechanical Design to enhance our product development team for high-speed turbochargers based in Baden, Switzerland. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, coordinating, and executing mechanical design work packages within product development and R&D projects, with a primary focus on 3D CAD modeling and 2D technical drawing creation. This position involves collaboration among product development, manufacturing quality, and customer requirements, contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • 3D and 2D mechanical CAD design of turbocharger parts and assemblies using CATIA V6 / 3DX
  • Development of new turbocharger components in interdisciplinary project teams
  • Optimize part designs and drawings to meet cost targets and technical supply chain requirements, including design for manufacturing
  • Provide technical product support for our existing turbocharger portfolio
  • Collaborate with the core component development group to integrate new compressor and turbine stages into turbocharger products
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our quality control processes and technical requirement specifications

Your Background:

  • MSc. (FH) in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and technical drawing creation
  • Familiarity with geometrical, positional, and shape tolerancing according to ISO standards
  • Proficient in both German and English (B2 level)
  • Strong attention to quality and a meticulous working style
  • High degree of self-management skills
  • Experience with quality control processes in a manufacturing context
  • Project management or engineering change management experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of applied engineering statistics or Six Sigma quality methods is advantageous
