Job Position: R&D Engineer for Educational Products Development and Space Engineer

Location: QZabre AG, Zürich, Switzerland

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Quantum Technology Specialist to join QZabre in developing innovative educational products centered around quantum technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of quantum technologies, particularly in solid-state physics and qubit control. Prior direct research experience in these areas is essential.

The successful applicant will lead a development project focused on creating an educational kit based on nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centres in diamond, aimed at demonstrating crystallography, quantization of atomic levels through level spectroscopy, and qubit manipulation on the Bloch Sphere. Direct experience in educational initiatives is mandatory.

Additionally, the candidate will oversee the development of high-sensitivity magnetometers intended for space domain applications. Experience in the design, assembly, and testing of optical and optomechanical systems for space applications is a requirement. The ideal applicant will have worked with multiple suppliers and understand the testing protocols needed for optical systems in space, including performance, reliability, and environmental qualification. Familiarity with laser technology and optics, as well as experience with ZEMAX or similar software, is highly desirable.

This position offers an open-ended contract.
