As the leader of the ECL function, you will provide strategic direction and operational oversight, managing its integrated plan, budget, and resources, while representing the function in key leadership forums.

In executing this strategy, you will oversee the network of local implementation teams to drive readiness and invigorate the global Change Agent Network. Collaboration with the Communications lead is essential to ensure a consistent stakeholder engagement plan. Additionally, you will establish key metrics to monitor adoption and act as the primary liaison to align with other major strategic initiatives, ensuring a cohesive experience for the organization.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the overarching ECL strategy, ensuring all strategic business goals are translated into actionable plans for business readiness and adoption.
  • Foster connectivity among local implementation and deployment teams (e.g., Business Implementation Squads) to enhance overall ECL function effectiveness.
  • Govern the stakeholder engagement plan, partnering with the Communications lead to develop and execute a unified, compelling narrative.
  • Lead activation and effectiveness of the global Change Agent Network, mobilizing a network of business champions to drive grassroots adoption.
  • Oversee the global learning strategy and training curriculum, from needs analysis to the design and delivery of all materials.
  • Establish a measurement framework for adoption and business readiness, including metrics and feedback channels to measure success and proactively address resistance.
  • Manage strategic alignment with other Roche initiatives, ensuring all change and communication plans provide a cohesive experience.
  • Drive sustainable capability building by partnering with internal Centers of Excellence to embed new skills and processes within the business.
  • Ensure integration with Deployment and Business Operations teams, synchronizing readiness, training, and communication activities with go-live plans.

Must Haves:

  • University Degree in Communications, Psychology, Business, or a related field; an MBA or other graduate-level degree is a plus.
  • Over 7 years of experience in leading the people-side of large-scale, international business transformations, particularly in a matrixed environment.
  • A strong understanding of complex program management and the ability to manage dependencies in a fast-paced, large-scale deployment environment.
  • Proven experience implementing Veeva CRM and/or Adobe Marketing Automation.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology sector or a closely related, regulated industry.
  • Over 3 years of direct people leadership or over 10 years of matrix leadership of distributed teams, with a proven ability to inspire and empower local champions of change.
  • Extensive expertise in Change Management methodologies and a track record of designing and executing end-to-end change strategies for large-scale, global technology-enabled transformations.
  • Proven experience in Learning & Development, including needs analysis, curriculum design, and delivery of blended learning programs for global audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute Strategic Communication & Stakeholder Engagement plans for complex global programs.
  • Deep Organizational Acumen, with a strong understanding of global functions, regions, and affiliates.
  • Strong Program & Dependency Management skills, able to integrate the ECL plan with a fast-paced deployment timeline.
  • VACC mindset and openness to Roche's new ways of working.
  • Availability to travel globally over 10% of the time.
  • Fluency in English is a must; additional languages are a big plus (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian, German).
