JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our firmware group, consisting of 4-6 engineers, as part of our larger software development team of 12 people. In this role, you will contribute to the company's developments, with a particular focus on embedded systems and FPGA-based functions. You will be the owner of 2-3 epics/feature developments each year, guiding projects from the definition phase through to commercial promotion of the implemented results. Collaboration with the project director will be essential, as they will provide you with application-level requirements and guidance.

During your tenure, you will actively collaborate with other software development engineers, firmware engineers, and power electronics engineers. You'll also have the opportunity to engage with customers, especially during larger projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN DUTIES

  • Develop low-level, multi-threaded bare-metal applications in C++.
  • Implement complex FPGA designs through simulation, synthesis, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain embedded Linux distributions using a Yocto-based environment.
  • Facilitate data exchange between the CPU and FPGA on AMD/Xilinx SoC.
  • Evaluate and select external hardware components and peripherals based on system requirements, interfacing with high-speed peripherals and traditional communication buses.
  • Perform hands-on board bring-up, validation, and debugging at the hardware-software boundary using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and standard lab equipment.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. While this position typically suits junior candidates, senior profiles are also welcome.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in C++ and VHDL.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx Zynq System-on-Chip and familiarity with a Yocto-based environment.
  • Demonstrable background in complex FPGA designs.
  • Experience with HLS tools.

Language: A good command of English, both written and spoken, is essential. Additional languages are a plus.

THIS POSITION WILL SUIT YOU IF

  • You appreciate a young and friendly environment that is also rigorous and demanding.
  • You are interested in a role that encompasses more than just coding or testing, focusing instead on leading projects from inception to completion, with some project management responsibilities.
  • You have the ability to empathize with typical customers—researchers in power electronics—and are keen to incorporate that perspective into your work.
