Electronic Engineer (m/w/d) PCR Instrument Product Care Team
Roche Schweiz bridges pharmacy and diagnostics, with key research and development functions located here. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronic Engineer to join the PCR Instrument Product Care Team at Roche Diagnostics International AG in Rotkreuz.
Background
The PCR Hardware Development (HW) department, including the Instrument Product Care Team, is responsible for the lifecycle maintenance of integrated hardware, software, and consumables products in a global, cross-functional environment. As an Electronic Engineer, you will collaborate with a high-performing team on devices for Nucleic Acid Purification, PCR, and Sequencing, maintaining and optimizing complex diagnostic systems. You will utilize Roche’s on-site and off-site functions to enhance product lifecycle and specifications in partnership with external development groups.
The Perfect Candidate
We are looking for a self-driven team player who is solution-oriented and proactive. You should possess at least three years of experience in product lifecycle management for existing products and be prepared to work within a highly regulated industry. Required qualifications and skills include:
- PCBA design
- Microcontrollers and firmware support
- EMC and functional safety requirements
- Fluency in spoken and written German
Additional assets would include experience in laboratory diagnostics and service support, proficiency in both hardware and software, and strong communication skills in English.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Plan and execute work packages within your area of responsibility
- Analyze data and prepare reports for project leaders
- Present solutions in project team meetings
- Escalate issues when projects deviate from the plan
- Recommend next steps based on generated data
- Drive initiatives for efficiency within work packages
- Coordinate efforts with other functional areas to achieve objectives
- Manage your time effectively within assigned work packages
- Make decisions pertinent to the scope of your tasks
- Author official documentation (e.g., Design History Files) in SAP
- Serve as the subject matter expert in your assigned areas
- Adapt and share knowledge across various tasks
Must Haves
- Degree in an electrical engineering discipline
- Passion for solving technical problems and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Experience (minimum of 3 years) in product lifecycle work for existing products
- Enthusiastic team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in PCBA design, microcontrollers, firmware support, and EMC/functional safety requirements
- Experience in laboratory diagnostics and/or service & support, as well as hardware and software assistance
- Fluent in German (both spoken and written) and strong English skills

- Experience in ECAD Mentor expeditions
