Electronic Engineer (m/w/d) - PCR Instrument Product Care Team

Roche Schweiz bridges pharmacy and diagnostics, hosting key research and development functions. We are currently seeking an Electronic Engineer for the PCR Instrument Product Care Team to join our esteemed client, Roche Diagnostics International AG, located in Rotkreuz.

Background

In a global, cross-functional environment, the PCR Hardware Development (HW) department—including the Instrument Product Care Team—manages the life cycle maintenance of successfully integrated hardware, software, and consumables products. As an Electronic Engineer, you will collaborate within a cross-functional team to develop devices for Nucleic Acid Purification, PCR, and Sequencing, focusing on the maintenance and optimization of complex diagnostic systems. You will leverage Roche's on-site and off-site functions to uphold product specifications while working with external development partners.

The Perfect Candidate

The ideal candidate is a motivated and autonomous team player with a solution-oriented mindset. With a minimum of three years' experience in product life cycle management for existing products, you are prepared to thrive in a highly regulated industry. Required skills include:

  • PCBA design
  • Microcontrollers and firmware support
  • EMC and functional safety requirements
  • Fluency in spoken and written German

Additional assets include experience in laboratory diagnostics, service, and support, as well as strong proficiency in English (both spoken and written) and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute work packages within your area of responsibility
  • Analyze data and prepare reports for project leads
  • Present solutions in project team meetings
  • Escalate issues when project plans deviate
  • Recommend next steps based on data analysis
  • Drive efforts to enhance efficiency within work packages
  • Coordinate efforts with other functional areas to accomplish tasks
  • Organize and manage your time within assigned work packages
  • Make decisions regarding the scope of your tasks
  • Author official documentation (e.g., Design History Files) in SAP
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for your assigned area
  • Exhibit flexibility in transferring knowledge to different tasks

Must Haves

  • Degree in an electrical engineering discipline
  • Genuine interest in resolving technical problems and working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience (minimum of 3 years) in product life cycle work for existing market products
  • Enthusiastic team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Solution-oriented, autonomous, and proactive work style
  • Proficient in PCBA design, microcontrollers, firmware support, as well as EMC and functional safety requirements
  • Experience in laboratory diagnostics and/or service & support is a plus
  • Fluent in German (both spoken and written) and proficient in English

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with ECAD Mentor expeditions
