  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to support both design and production activities.
  • Willingness to work in both office and production floor environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and aerospace wiring standards (SAE AS50881, FAA AC 21-99(0), DO-160).
  • Understanding lightning protection and HIRF (High Intensity Radiated Fields) requirements.
  • Familiarity with automotive or aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).

Communication:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient language skills in English (oral and written), with German as desirable.

Key Tasks

EWIS Design & Development:

  • Design and develop electrical wiring interconnection systems, including wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and connectors.
  • Perform wire gauge calculations, voltage drop analysis, and current carrying capacity assessments.
  • Select suitable wiring materials, connectors, terminals, and protective components based on environmental and performance requirements.
  • Develop grounding and bonding schemes to ensure electrical safety and EMC compliance.
  • Create detailed harness assembly drawings, wire lists, and manufacturing documentation.

Installation & Integration:

  • Develop installation procedures and tooling requirements for wire harness assembly and aircraft installation.
  • Ensure proper wire support, strain relief, and protection from chafing, vibration, and environmental hazards.
  • Coordinate wire routing through bulkheads, fairings, and structural members while maintaining adequate bend radius and clearances.
  • Support prototype builds and production installations with hands-on technical guidance.
  • Verify the proper installation of EWIS components.

Testing & Validation:

  • Develop and execute test plans for EWIS continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing.
  • Perform wire harness acceptance testing and quality inspections.
  • Support fault isolation and troubleshooting of electrical system issues.

Compliance & Certification:

  • Ensure EWIS designs comply with aerospace standards including DO-160, SAE AS50881, MIL-DTL-38999, and FAA AC 21-99(0).

Documentation & Configuration Management:

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including wiring diagrams, harness drawings, installation manuals, and parts lists.
  • Develop interconnect diagrams (ICDs) showing electrical interfaces between systems and subsystems.
  • Generate manufacturing work instructions, quality control procedures, and inspection criteria.
  • Support technical publications and maintenance documentation.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to optimize harness producibility and efficiency.
  • Interface with suppliers for procurement of wires, connectors, and protective components.

Competencies & Duties

Work independently and responsibly, adhering to the tasks outlined above. Ensure compliance with ANAVIA’s employment contract, safety instructions, quality manual, work instructions, and corresponding process specifications. Note that international travel may be required for up to 25% of working hours.
