Join ANAVIA as an Electrical Systems Engineer
ANAVIA specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems for applications up to 500 kilograms. We offer industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems tailored for a variety of mission profiles, including Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection, Mapping, and Cargo operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in EWIS design, wire harness development, or aerospace electrical systems. Preferred experience includes aircraft wiring systems, UAV and GCS electrical integration, or aerospace manufacturing. Hands-on experience with wire harness assembly, installation, and testing is essential.
Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical wiring principles, wire sizing, and circuit protection.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD tools for harness design (e.g. Capital Harness, CATIA Electrical Workbench).
- Experience with connector systems and termination techniques.
- Understanding of EMC/EMI principles and wire segregation requirements.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment including multimeters, continuity testers, and hipot testers.
- Knowledge of wire protection methods, such as braiding, conduit, heat shrink, and cable ties.
- Experience with composite aircraft structures and EWIS installation challenges.
- Hands-on problem-solving skills, with the ability to support both design and production activities.
- Willingness to work in both office and production environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and aerospace wiring standards (SAE AS50881, FAA AC 21-99(0), or DO-160).
- Understanding lightning protection and HIRF (High Intensity Radiated Fields) protection requirements.
- Familiarity with automotive or aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
Communication
We value strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities, especially in cross-functional team settings. The capability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously is crucial.
Language: Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required; German is desirable.
Key Tasks
- EWIS Design & Development: Design and develop electrical wiring interconnection systems, perform wire gauge calculations, voltage drop analysis, and select appropriate materials.
- Installation & Integration: Develop installation procedures, ensure proper wire support, and coordinate wire routing during assembly.
- Testing & Validation: Create and execute test plans, conduct quality inspections, and support fault isolation.
- Compliance & Certification: Ensure EWIS designs comply with aerospace standards.
- Documentation & Configuration Management: Create and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams and installation manuals.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work with manufacturing and quality teams to enhance producibility.
Competencies & Duties
Work independently and responsibly while adhering to ANAVIA's employment contract and safety instructions. Compliance with the company's quality manual and corresponding process specifications is essential. International travel may be required, up to 25% of working hours.
