Electrical Supervisor, Zurich

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Management of site safety in collaboration with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including the setup, management, and closing out of the safety file as part of the management team.
- Supervise and inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.
- Liaise with Site QA and the Electrical Package Manager to ensure 'Right First Time' installations.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance with quality standards and codes.
- Assist in managing all costs associated with your package, including:
- Mercury Mechanical Team
- Sub-contractors
- Material deliveries and goods receipting
- Plant and equipment
- Variations
- Valuations
- Familiarity with and management of the project schedule, coordinating with other trades, Package Leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements.
- Be aware of all milestone dates and ensure all on-site activities are in accordance with the produced schedule.
- Management of all day-to-day on-site operations to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Oversee sub-contractor activities, including tracking progress against schedules and manpower levels, ensuring regular meetings are held.
- Manage the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system, ensuring weekly punch lists are submitted where applicable.
- Provide direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to the time administrator for centralized tracking.
- Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, and handover meetings.
- Close out all project items, including O&M Manuals and safety files, with support from the Electrical Package Manager.
- Assist with the maintenance of redline drawings for the development of as-installed drawings for O&M manuals.
- Implement a weekly look ahead to ensure coordination with other trades.
- Produce internal weekly progress reports, highlighting percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns, as well as risks within Mercury's control.
- Schedule material deliveries to align with the project timeline, maintaining a weekly photographic diary of the project.
- Assign work in accordance with construction schedules.
- Manage productivity to meet work goals and contribute to improved construction practices and designs.
- Perform administrative duties as required.
- Ensure construction materials are ordered and inventory is maintained according to planned work requirements.
- Keep records of activities, personnel attendance, and performance for future evaluations.
- Plan and schedule activities, supervise subordinates, maintain records and files, and prepare reports.
- Provide technical guidance and support during installations.
- Recommend procedural revisions to optimize the use of personnel and equipment.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.
- Liaise with engineering to ensure conformance with standards.
- Attend construction meetings as necessary.
- Prepare progress reports for management.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- A trade background with 5 to 10 years of experience supervising large installation crews and subcontractors.
- A proven record of overseeing and managing large installation projects.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
- Experience in design and build projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent IT skills.
