Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Manage site safety with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including the setup, management, and closure of the safety file as part of the management team.
- Supervise and inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments.
- Liaise with Site QA and the Electrical Package manager on ensuring 'Right First Time' installation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality codes.
- Assist in managing costs related to:
- Mercury Mechanical Team
- Sub-contractors
- Material deliveries and goods receipting
- Plant and Equipment
- Variations
- Valuations
- Familiarity with project schedules and collaboration with other trades and package leads to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Oversee day-to-day operations on site to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor and manage sub-contractor activities, ensuring weekly progress meetings are conducted.
- Utilize the Mercury 'In Progress' snagging system to manage punch lists.
- Provide direct labour hours and subcontractor hours for tracking.
- Attend site meetings and internal project reviews.
- Close out all project items, including O&M Manuals, Punch Lists, and QA files with support from the Electrical Package manager.
- Implement a weekly lookahead to ensure coordination with other trades.
- Issue internal weekly progress reports outlining percentage completion and any risks or concerns.
- Schedule material deliveries to align with project timelines and maintain a weekly photographic diary.
- Assign work in alignment with construction schedules and foster productivity to meet work goals.
- Contribute to improved construction practices and designs.
- Perform administrative duties as required, ensuring construction materials are ordered in line with project needs.
- Maintain records of progress, track personnel attendance, and evaluate performance.
- Provide technical guidance and support during the installation process.
- Engage in inspections to ensure compliance with standards and liaise with engineering teams as necessary.
- Prepare progress reports for management and attend construction meetings as needed.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Trade background with 5–10 years of experience supervising large installation crews and subcontractors.
- Proven track record of managing large installation projects.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
- Experience in design and build processes.
- Strong technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent IT skills.
