Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Actively participate in the development of commissioning (Cx) related activities within project schedules and programs, ensuring close coordination with all facets of the Project Team to address all stakeholder requirements.
- Review the IFC Design and produce a detailed report identifying associated risks and opportunities.
- Develop and coordinate a Cx tracking schedule for all mechanical systems, ensuring consideration for integration with electrical systems.
- Attend weekly coordination, design, integration, and discipline meetings, contributing valuable insights that may affect Cx and testing activities.
- Participate in Factory Witness Testing (FWT) as required.
- Chair or co-chair weekly Cx Management Meetings with subcontractors and vendors, promptly recording and circulating the minutes.
- Review and comment on all relevant technical submissions and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Evaluate vendor testing scripts, ensuring they align with project requirements.
- Assess all Cx-related Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Review test packs from subcontractors and vendors for compliance with design criteria, ensuring alignment with employer’s requirements and relevant standards.
- Witness in-field testing and Cx activities, providing thorough reports.
- Monitor construction activities in coordination with mechanical, electrical, and CSA discipline leads, identifying any gaps or risks.
- Coordinate with the Integration Team to capture program crossovers and deliverables, including areas for Beneficial Use.
- Familiarize oneself with the Mercury Way, SharePoint, EIDA, and related project repositories, with training provided.
- Maintain a daily diary and issue a weekly report (format to be agreed upon with Line Manager).
- Oversee the Cx process and activities led by CFCI and OFCI vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the project handover and turnover packs at each level of the Cx tagging process, signing off on the Mechanical Cx Forms in ACC or comparable systems.
- Analyze functional performance logs and monitoring data to verify system performance, collaborating with the BMS contractor.
- Counter-sign testing and commissioning certifications.
- Conduct QAQC inspections onsite and at vendor factories upon request, ensuring compliance with submitted documentation and company standards.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer on large-scale industrial projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of building regulations, European standards, codes, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute a full Integrated System Test (IST) with relevant documentation.
- Excellent organizational and task prioritization skills to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively reporting to management and clients.
- Proficiency in producing detailed reports, presentations, and documentation to a high standard.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to successfully manage client and contractor vendors to ensure adherence to specifications and timely commissioning.
- Capability to delegate tasks effectively and know when to involve others.
- Strong teamwork and social skills, with a passion for leadership and motivation.
- Excellent time management skills coupled with a drive for success and results.
