Deputy Compliance and Safety Manager
Helvetic Airways is currently seeking a highly motivated and practical individual to enhance our team as the Deputy Compliance and Safety Manager. In this role, you will support the Compliance and Safety Manager in overseeing Part-145 activities, contributing to the continuous improvement of our safety management systems.
Your Main Tasks:
- Assume the responsibilities of the Compliance and Safety Manager temporarily as needed.
- Manage the safety management system operations, facilitate risk management processes, monitor actions taken to mitigate risks, maintain safety documentation, and ensure the availability of safety training and promotional tools.
- Oversee the occurrence reporting system and lead relevant safety investigations.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance the effectiveness of the management system.
- Measure the effectiveness of the safety management system and continuously improve the processes.
- Manage the independent compliance function to monitor adherence to applicable regulations and support the internal oversight program for compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the company and among suppliers.
- Serve as a critical link in communicating safety issues to management and disseminating safety information to staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Analyze technical data for trends related to hazards, events, and occurrences to foster continuous improvement.
- Model and promote an organizational culture that prioritizes safety through effective leadership.
- Participate in managing internal authorizations, training controls, and providing internal training in specific areas.
Your Profile:
- 5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in aviation.
- Exhibits excellent safety behavior and attitude, promotes hazard reporting, and ensures effective safety reporting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable regulations and Safety Management Systems (SMS) based on EU regulations.
- Proficient in auditing techniques, including planning, conducting, and reporting.
- Familiar with quality and continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of Risk Management and safety investigation techniques, including root cause methodologies.
- Understanding of Human Factors and Human Performance.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for dealing with colleagues, customers, and authorities.
- Very good command of written and spoken English (B2 level; German is a plus) and exceptional communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptable to new systems (experience with AMOS and IQSMS is advantageous).
- A valid Swiss/EU passport with unrestricted rights to live and work in Switzerland/European Union.
