The primary objective of this role is to encourage and support Middle School Secondaire students in enjoying and maximizing their learning opportunities. The position involves teaching English and EAL, with the potential for taking on a homeroom advisor role. This role is set to commence in mid-August 2026.
You must possess a relevant EAL teaching qualification along with a teaching qualification in English and/or EAL. A Master’s degree in a suitable pedagogy-related field is preferred.
A successful track record in teaching within a Middle School environment, particularly to students whose first language may not be English, ideally in an international school context, is essential. You should be equipped to address the diverse needs of students with diagnosed learning differences. Experience as a homeroom advisor is a plus.
Fluency in English is required, as it is your mother tongue. You should possess the ability to integrate educational technology effectively to enhance learning experiences. Establishing positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries is crucial, as is demonstrating good organizational skills.
The ideal candidate will excel in teamwork, meet tight deadlines, and implement effective classroom management and differentiation strategies.
The individual in this role must remain vigilant regarding Child Protection guidelines and maintain a professional distance from students while fostering effective, caring relationships. A commitment to diversity and inclusion, coupled with a stance against discrimination in any form, is essential. Background investigations and reference checks for the past ten years will be conducted during the selection process.
