This role involves encouraging and supporting students to fully embrace and benefit from the diverse learning opportunities provided by the school, particularly in teaching English and EAL to Middle School Secondaire students. The position also includes the possibility of serving as a homeroom advisor.
This position is to be filled starting mid-August 2026.
The candidate must possess a relevant EAL teaching qualification alongside a teaching qualification in English and/or EAL. A Master’s degree in a suitable area of pedagogy is preferred.
A successful background in teaching within a Middle School environment, especially to students whose first language may not be English, is essential. Experience addressing the needs of students with diagnosed learning differences is also required. Experience as a homeroom advisor is considered an asset.
Fluency in English as your mother tongue is required. The ability to effectively integrate educational technology to enhance curriculum learning is essential. Building positive relationships with students while maintaining a firm but empathetic approach is vital. Strong organizational skills are necessary.
Additionally, demonstrable effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
The ideal candidate will excel in teamwork, manage tight deadlines, and implement effective classroom management and differentiation strategies.
The successful candidate must consistently uphold Child Protection guidelines and maintain a professional distance from students while fostering effective working and caring relationships. A commitment to diversity and inclusion, along with a stance against discrimination in any form, is essential. Background investigations and reference checks for the past ten years will be conducted during the selection process.
