The Strategy & Growth Enterprise Portfolio Insights team is seeking a talented individual to join as the Director of Product Commercial Assessment & Insights (PCAI). In this role, you will be responsible for conducting transparent, evidence-based long-term revenue assessments for Novartis' therapeutic area portfolio, pipeline, and marketed products. Your contributions will include leading updates on long-term forecasts for both new and existing programs, as well as providing insightful opportunity assessments. You will become a key player in synthesizing risks and opportunities within commercial assessments across various programs and therapeutic areas at Novartis, focusing specifically on one of four critical areas: cardiovascular, immunology, neurology, or oncology.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Possess a deep understanding and hands-on experience in forecasting, new product planning, and commercial assessments, specializing in at least one therapeutic area (cardiovascular, immunology, neurology, or oncology).
- Synthesize key insights and clearly communicate market opportunity assessments, patient journey mappings, healthcare provider/patient insights, competitive intelligence, and positioning strategies to identify specified program risks and opportunities.
- Transform complex data into clear narratives and strategic recommendations for senior leadership through impactful presentations and visualizations.
- Develop and maintain sales and volume forecasts based on specific indications and epidemiological data for pipeline and in-market brands, on both a needs basis and as they evolve for a designated therapeutic area.
- Collaborate with the Strategy & Growth (S&G), US, and International (INT) teams, ensuring product and market insights are factored into forecasts, ultimately producing a unified set of approved brand forecasts.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to align on critical assumptions and develop a unified treatment journey.
- Consolidate and summarize sales forecast assumptions, methodologies, and results for all relevant stakeholders and systems.
- Support forecast development and insight generation for licensing and M&A opportunities under the guidance of C&BD colleagues within S&G, as needed.
- Mentor and coach junior colleagues to foster professional growth within the team.
Essential Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree required, ideally in a related field such as Science, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or Business; an MBA or advanced degree is strongly preferred.

- Fluent in both oral and written English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
Experience/Professional Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry, particularly in life sciences consulting linked to commercial assessments; experience in market commercialization, finance, or new product planning is essential.
- Familiarity with epidemiology sources, IQVIA, Evaluate Pharma, claims, and other standard pharmaceutical data sources.
- Proven experience in integrating big data analytics, competitive intelligence, and market research into forecasting models.
- Comfortable implementing AI solutions where applicable.
