The Executive Director of Marketing Skills and Capabilities Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of marketing excellence for International Top Markets and Regions. Reporting to the Head of Launch Excellence & Execution, the Lead will ensure alignment with business priorities and effectively address challenges. Major Accountabilities
- Collaborate with internal and external thought leaders, along with organizational leaders, top markets, regions, and functional experts, to assess and define priority capabilities, training needs, behaviors, skills, and knowledge essential for Marketing Excellence.
- Develop a future-ready marketing capabilities framework and learning curriculum in alignment with the organization’s capability roadmap, harmonizing ongoing capabilities-building efforts and leveraging best practices from diverse markets.
- Lead the design and delivery of impactful in-house training and train-the-trainer programs tailored for international markets with potential adaptations of existing approaches.
- Build and oversee communities of practice and distributed teams that serve as content experts, ensuring accountability in successful capability development.
- Design KPIs and benchmarking strategies for marketing capabilities, and develop a continuous improvement roadmap.
- Oversee a digital knowledge hub as a central learning platform, fostering above-country and in-country learnings.
- Stay updated on external marketing capability evaluations and trends to transform the function into an agile learning organization, utilizing best-in-class methodologies and practices.
- Create a work environment that empowers individuals to perform at their best and allows high-performing teams to thrive.
- Actively participate as a member of the leadership team, partnering with functional leads from various departments.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in Marketing and Skills & Capabilities Training within a regulated industry.
- Multi-functional experience in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Consumer Packaged Goods, focusing on strategic marketing and execution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in leading and delivering learning curriculum and solutions within a marketing organization.
- A strong understanding of training design and delivery concepts, architecture, tools, and system environments.
- Experience leading transformational digital, data, and customer experience solutions to evolve commercial organizational capabilities.
- Knowledge in employee development and career pathing.
- Experience in local and above-country (Headquarter) marketing and commercial functions.
- A genuine curiosity and passion for marketing, staying informed about industry news, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Strong influencing skills at all levels of a multinational enterprise, with the ability to navigate tactfully, diplomatically, and decisively through varying inputs.
- Ability to facilitate and drive change in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, leveraging strong interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at every level.
- Capability to establish credibility and influence across diverse stakeholders in a matrix organization to drive change.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and information to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.

- Experience in large market commercial roles in the US.
- Intrapreneurial mindset, thriving in fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous environments while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
- A demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability for the collective success of the team.
- Ability to re-prioritize, pivot, and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Location
This role can be based in Basel, Switzerland, or in one of the International hubs: London, UK; Barcelona, Spain; or Dublin, Ireland.
