Job Title: Director HEOR EMEA Region

As the Director of HEOR for the EMEA Region, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the functional direction of HEOR within the region. This position directly impacts regional strategy and provides meaningful input into Business Unit (BU) portfolio strategies. Your expertise will ensure the generation of robust evidence and compelling value communication, which supports regional commercial value capture, market access, and medical engagement strategies for both marketed and pipeline products and programs.

The Regional HEOR Lead will align customer priorities with the multidimensional clinical, economic, and system-level value of BD solutions.

Main Responsibilities

Regional HEOR Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute a regional HEOR strategy aligned with commercial, medical, and market access priorities.
  • Define evidence plans, identify gaps, and drive integrated evidence generation (including RWE, database analyses, and literature reviews).
  • Lead the development of HEOR models, value dossiers, and communication tools that support differentiated value propositions.
  • Apply insights on customer segments, reimbursement pathways, and regional value drivers to inform strategy.
  • Support market-shaping initiatives and field-based HEOR activities, including KOL engagement and insight generation.
  • Monitor industry trends and HTA developments to guide regional response.

Integration of HEOR into New Product Development

  • Support and drive the integration of HEOR into new product development activities.
  • Embed HEOR into new product development, clinical programs, and lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure alignment of regional value narratives with global evidence and launch strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Access Support

  • Partner with reimbursement, regulatory, safety, marketing, and market access teams.
  • Monitor HTA activity, reimbursement, and legislative trends, and support market access submissions.

Functional Leadership and Capability Building

  • Demonstrate HEOR business impact in collaboration with commercial and marketing teams.
  • Build regional capability in evidence-based engagement and value communication.
  • Lead the development of the HEOR function and standardize best practices.
  • Manage resources and external partnerships.
  • Represent BD externally at events such as ISPOR and MedTech Europe.

About You

We are looking for a senior HEOR leader with over 10 years of experience in clinical and health outcomes research, including field-based engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background, along with a proven ability to shape evidence strategies, influence healthcare decision-makers, and drive access and adoption across multiple markets.

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD/DO) in relevant disciplines, including Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Health Policy, or similar (MPH, RN, RPh also considered).
  • Proven track record of engaging healthcare decision-makers (including HTA bodies) to support access and adoption strategies.
  • Strong technical and strategic expertise with experience delivering enterprise-level HEOR strategies across various markets.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with or advising regional executive leadership teams.
