The Environment Programme is dedicated to safeguarding our future by restoring our connection to nature. With three sub-programmes—Marine Food Systems and Livelihoods, Nature and People, and Regenerative Landscapes—we take a systems change approach to tackle the root causes of societal challenges. Our goal is to enhance the health and resilience of communities and our natural environment.

Purpose of the Role

We are currently seeking a Director to lead our Environment Programme and team. This role, based in the Foundation’s Geneva office, will be responsible for the comprehensive leadership of the Environment Programme portfolio and the management of a team of approximately 7 staff members. In 2026, our grant-making totalled USD 32 million.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensuring the development and implementation of the programme strategy.
• Managing the grant portfolio and team.
• Leading field building activities, including network development, funder relationships, convenings, and collaborative projects, while representing Oak Foundation externally.

Position Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience, expertise, and networks in relevant sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a diverse, international team of senior professionals.
• Ability to represent the Environment Programme and Oak Foundation with clarity and impact to a wide range of stakeholders.
