Job Title: Director Business Unit Dental Preservation
The Director of the Business Unit for Dental Preservation is a key member of the COLTENE Group Marketing and Product Management leadership team. This role is crucial in driving the strategic direction and operational success of all products within the Dental Preservation segment. The position demands strong business acumen and a thorough understanding of Endodontic and Restorative workflows.
This role encompasses oversight of the full product portfolio and business operations, ensuring alignment with COLTENE Group’s global vision and market demands. By leading cross-functional teams, which include product managers, junior product managers, and various support functions, the Director plays a pivotal role in achieving profitable growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring operational excellence across the unit. Additionally, they are responsible for building robust relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders, while overseeing the complete product lifecycle from inception to phase-out, remaining accountable for the success of their product segment on a global scale.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree, MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in business management or leadership roles within the dental, medical device, or healthcare industry, including at least 5 years in a senior management capacity.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in dental manufacturing or other regulated industries is required for this role.
- Strong Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage product development and lifecycle for Endodontic and Restorative products, collaborating effectively with dental professionals.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven track record in developing and executing business strategies, managing P&L responsibilities, and driving organizational growth.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial, analytical, and budgeting skills, with experience in managing budgets and forecasting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead effectively across various functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Direction & Execution: Define and implement the overall strategy for the business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
- Financial Management: Manage budgets and product margins, ensuring financial targets are met through effective resource allocation and cost management.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the management of the product portfolio, collaborating with product teams to optimize performance, market positioning, and revenue growth.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitive actions, and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with R&D, marketing, sales, manufacturing, operations, and regulatory teams to drive integrated initiatives that enhance product and business performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, industry influencers, and internal leadership to support business objectives.
- Innovation & Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement and innovation initiatives to drive new product development and maintain a competitive edge.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient operations by streamlining processes, maintaining high quality standards, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Talent Management: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture while supporting their professional growth.
- Sales & Marketing Alignment: Work closely with sales and marketing leaders to create effective go-to-market strategies, ensuring successful product launches and market penetration.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks within the business unit to ensure sustainable operations and continuity of business.
- Reporting & Strategic Insight: Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to the leadership team, facilitating informed decision-making.
