We are seeking a new talent to join our team as a Director Business Unit Dental Preservation. This pivotal role is a key member of the COLTENE Group Marketing and Product Management leadership team, responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational success of all products within the Dental Preservation segment. Strong business acumen and a solid understanding of Endodontic and Restorative workflows are essential.

The Director will oversee the full product portfolio and business operations, ensuring alignment with COLTENE Group’s global vision and market demands. By leading cross-functional teams—including product managers, junior product managers, and other support functions—the Director will ensure profitable growth, innovation, and operational excellence while fostering strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders. They will manage the complete product lifecycle from conception to phase-out and bear overall accountability for the success of their product segment globally.

Skills & Experiences / Interests

  • Strategic Direction & Execution: Define and implement the overall strategy for the business unit, aligning it with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets and product margins, ensuring financial targets are met through effective resource allocation and cost management.
  • Portfolio Management: Lead product portfolio management, working closely with product teams to optimize product performance, market positioning, and revenue growth.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitive activities to guide strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with R&D, marketing, sales, manufacturing, operations, and regulatory teams to drive integrated initiatives that enhance product and business performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, industry influencers, and internal leadership.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, driving new product development and integrating new technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient operations by streamlining processes and maintaining high quality standards while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Talent Management: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional growth.
  • Sales & Marketing Alignment: Work closely with sales and marketing leaders to develop effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks within the business unit, ensuring sustainable operations.
  • Reporting & Strategic Insight: Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to the leadership team, driving informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Education: Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field; bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in business management or leadership roles within the dental, medical device, or healthcare industry, with at least 5 years in senior management positions.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in dental manufacturing or regulated industries is essential.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Proven ability to manage product development and lifecycle for Endodontic and Restorative products.
  • Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to execute business strategies and manage P&L responsibilities.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial, analytical, and budgeting skills, with a proven track record in managing budgets and forecasting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to lead teams effectively.
