Director Business Unit Dental Preservation
The Director Business Unit Dental Preservation is an essential member of the COLTENE Group Marketing and Product Management leadership team. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic direction and operational success of all products within the Dental Preservation segment. A deep understanding of Endodontic and Restorative workflows, combined with strong business acumen, is crucial for success in this position.
This role oversees the full product portfolio and business operations, ensuring alignment with COLTENE Group’s global vision and market demands. By leading cross-functional teams, including product managers, junior product managers, and other support functions, the Director ensures profitable growth, innovation, and operational excellence across the unit. They also foster strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders. The Director holds complete accountability for the product lifecycle from inception to phase-out, ensuring the success of their product segment globally.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field; Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in business management or leadership roles within the dental, medical device, or healthcare industry, including at least 5 years in a senior management capacity.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in dental manufacturing or related regulated industries is essential for this role.
- Strong Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage product development and lifecycle for Endodontic and Restorative products, with experience collaborating closely with dental professionals.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven capability in developing and executing business strategies and managing P&L responsibilities to drive organizational growth.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial, analytical, and budgeting skills, with a track record in managing budgets and forecasting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to lead diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Direction & Execution: Define and implement the overall strategy for the business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
- Financial Management: Oversee budgets, product margins, and ensure financial targets are met through effective resource allocation and cost management.
- Portfolio Management: Lead the management of the product portfolio, collaborating closely with product teams to optimize performance, market positioning, and revenue growth.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor market trends and customer insights to guide strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with R&D, marketing, sales, manufacturing, operations, and regulatory teams to enhance product and business performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, industry influencers, and internal leadership.
- Innovation & Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives and champion new product development to maintain a competitive edge.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient operations by streamlining processes and upholding high-quality standards while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Talent Management: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional growth.
- Sales & Marketing Alignment: Collaborate with sales and marketing leaders to create effective go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product launches.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks within the business unit to ensure sustainable operations.
- Reporting & Strategic Insight: Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to the leadership team, supporting informed decision-making.
