We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of:

Director Business Unit Dental Preservation 100%

The Director Business Unit Dental Preservation plays a pivotal role within the COLTENE Group Marketing and Product Management leadership team. This position is responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational success of all products within the Dental Preservation segment. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen and a thorough understanding of Endodontic and Restorative workflows.

In this role, you will oversee the entire product portfolio and business operations, ensuring alignment with COLTENE Group’s global vision and market demands. By leading cross-functional teams, including product managers and support functions, you will ensure profitable growth, innovation, and operational excellence, while fostering strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders. You will manage the complete product lifecycle from conception to phase-out, bearing overall accountability for the success of your product segment globally.

Skills & Experience / Interests

  • Strategic Direction & Execution: Define and implement the overall strategy for the business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, product margins, and ensure financial targets are met through effective resource allocation and cost management.
  • Portfolio Management: Lead the management of the product portfolio, working closely with product teams to optimize performance and revenue growth.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor market trends and customer insights to guide strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with various departments to drive initiatives that enhance product and business performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, and internal leadership.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, driving new product development.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient operations by maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Talent Management: Mentor and develop team members to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Sales & Marketing Alignment: Work closely with sales and marketing leaders to develop effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure sustainable operations.
  • Reporting & Strategic Insight: Provide performance reports and strategic recommendations to the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Education: Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in business management or leadership roles within the dental, medical device, or healthcare industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management capacity.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in dental manufacturing or related regulated industries is required.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Proven ability to manage product development and lifecycle for Endodontic and Restorative products.
  • Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to develop business strategies and manage P&L responsibilities.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial, analytical, and budgeting skills, with a proven track record in managing budgets and forecasting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
