YOUR PROFILE

As the Director of Co-Curricular Learning (CCL), you will hold a pivotal senior leadership role focused on designing, leading, and continuously enhancing an exceptional experiential program that reflects Beau Soleil's educational ethos. From sports and outdoor education to student enrichment, entrepreneurship, service, and global engagement, every program will embody our commitment to ambition, excellence, and care.

Your role will involve the strategic vision and oversight of Beau Soleil’s signature Trips and Expeditions program. You will ensure its innovation and operational excellence, guaranteeing that each experience is educationally meaningful, safe, financially sustainable, and transformative for our students.

In collaboration with the Vice Principal and the broader senior leadership team, you will uphold the highest standards of impact, safeguarding, compliance, and risk management across all co-curricular offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic vision & whole-school alignment: Lead and implement a cohesive co-curricular vision aligned with the School’s mission and strategic priorities, placing experiential learning at the forefront and ensuring alignment across academic, pastoral, and boarding frameworks.
  • Executive leadership & impact governance: Provide strategic insight within the senior leadership team, aligning ambition with operational feasibility while embedding measurable objectives, participation data, and impact indicators into the School Development Plan.
  • Co-curricular program excellence: Oversee the design and continuous improvement of a diverse, inclusive, and high-quality co-curricular portfolio that responds to student needs and global trends.
  • Trips & expeditions strategy and delivery: Direct the long-term development, innovation, and operational leadership of the Trips & Expeditions program, ensuring clear learning outcomes and educational value.
  • Operational, risk & financial stewardship: Ensure rigorous logistical planning, safeguarding, compliance, risk management, and transparent financial oversight to guarantee safety and sustainability.
  • Sport & outdoor education leadership: Drive the strategic development of competitive sports, performance pathways, and Outdoor Education, promoting both inclusive participation and excellence.
  • Student empowerment & enrichment: Lead the Co-Curricular Learning team while fostering student agency, sustainability, and service learning initiatives.
  • Partnerships, representation & community engagement: Build strong external partnerships and global networks, represent the School in experiential education forums, and maintain transparent communication with parents to reinforce trust and program impact.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Degree-level qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Significant leadership experience in experiential learning, sport, or co-curricular programming
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge
  • Proven ability to lead complex trips and residential programs
  • Experience managing budgets and logistical planning

Desirable:

  • Experience in an international and/or boarding school context
  • Outdoor education or coaching qualifications
  • Experience managing complex program logistics
  • Working knowledge of French (an asset)
