Are you ready to shape the commercial future of Beauty & Care in EMEA? At dsm-firmenich, we’re seeking a forward-thinking Director Commercial Services for the P&B, B&C EMEA Region to drive our strategy across the Sun, Skin, and Hair Care portfolio.
As a strategic leader, you will develop and execute commercial strategies that balance volume, pricing, and margin ambitions while guiding a diverse and multidisciplinary team. Your role will be central to translating market opportunities into sustainable growth, strengthening distributor relationships, and optimizing volume allocations within a dynamic global organization. In this pivotal role, you’ll not only influence commercial operations across EMEA but also serve as a key advisor to senior leadership—ensuring our customers’ needs are met today while preparing the business for tomorrow.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve targets in volume, pricing, and gross margin across the B&C EMEA portfolio (Sun, Skin, and Hair Care).
- Influence broader commercial operations, supporting diverse customer bases and distributor relationships.
- Provide regional budget input through a bottom-up and top-down process, factoring in Integrated Demand Planning and supply constraints.
- Oversee day-to-day commercial management, guiding the regional salesforce effectively across both transactional commodities and strategic specialties.
- Directly manage a multidisciplinary team, including a Demand Manager, Customer Service Team, Commercial Analyst, and Customer Documentation Specialist.
- Lead the demand planning and forecasting processes to ensure accurate monthly forecasts and effective allocation of goods to meet customer demand and targets.
- Collaborate with the global commercial team and other Directors of Commercial Services from various regions to optimize volume allocations under tight supply conditions.
- Identify and collect trends/needs that could lead to new products/customers, applications, and market expansion projects in collaboration with other regions.
- Ensure comprehensive business intelligence, maintain awareness of competitors' products and strategies, and adapt commercial strategies as necessary.
- Ensure effective internal communication on commercial issues with global and regional teams.
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership, contributing to decision-making on commercial policies and practices.

You Bring:
- A university degree in Business and/or a technical field; an MBA is required.
- Supply Chain Management certification is a strong asset.
- Deep knowledge of the chemical and cosmetic industry, including market dynamics and business models with at least 10 years of relevant experience, of which a minimum of 5 years is in China.
- In-depth knowledge of key cosmetic ingredient suppliers across Asia, such as China, South Korea, and India.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Chinese.
- A proven track record of successfully leading diverse, cross-functional teams (minimum 5 years).
- Strong proficiency in key IT systems (e.g., SAP, CRM, Power BI) and processes (e.g., Integrated Business Planning IBP).
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
