Role Overview
Exciting opportunities await at Aurel BGC within our Futures & Options desk located in Geneva. The Desk Assistant will play a vital role in providing daily support to our Futures & Options brokers, primarily focusing on Rates, to ensure the efficient operation of the desk while gaining valuable exposure to global derivatives markets. Working alongside experienced brokers, the successful candidate will cultivate a robust understanding of futures and options products, trading workflows, market dynamics, and client service.

Responsibilities
- Assist brokers in the daily tasks associated with executing trades.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Futures & Options broking team.
- Input trades into internal booking systems.
- Communicate information to clients and compile data.
- Liaise with clients through telephone and in-person interactions.
- Support client development and business generation efforts.
- Monitor markets and keep up-to-date with financial news and developments.
Regulatory Status
The role holder is expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and regulatory awareness at all times. This entails full compliance with relevant regulatory obligations, internal compliance frameworks, and desk-level procedures. It is essential to maintain a rigorous understanding of applicable rules, adhere to internal policies, and ensure all activities are conducted in a transparent and compliant manner. Holding CISI certifications is considered advantageous.
Personal Attributes
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a Front Office environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated interest in global financial markets, particularly listed interest rate futures and options.
- Understanding of interest rates and macroeconomics is advantageous.
- Strong interest in commodity markets, trading, or broking.
- High attention to detail in a trade-processing environment.
- Comfortable working in a data-heavy, high-pressure environment.
- Exemplary personal and professional integrity and credibility.
- Confident and personable, capable of building relationships with stakeholders and clients.

Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and ideally VBA).
- Experience with coding/scripting (Python, VBA, or similar).
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical mindset and numerical abilities.
- Basic understanding of the financial services industry and the sector in which the organization operates.
- Comprehension of relevant technologies.
- Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
