About Us

Your Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing clinician-facing workflows and interfaces that are intuitive, efficient, safe, and compliant with regulatory standards for medical devices (e.g., FDA, IEC 62366). You will work closely with product managers, clinical experts, software engineers, and regulatory specialists to ensure usability and human factors are central to our product development process.

  • Conduct user research and contextual inquiry with ICU staff, nurses, and respiratory therapists.
  • Design and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications.
  • Translate clinical workflows into safe and efficient UI interactions.
  • Drive usability and human factors engineering activities in line with IEC 62366 and FDA guidance.
  • Lead formative and summative usability testing and document findings.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and QA teams to generate Human Factors Engineering (HFE) documentation for 510(k) submission.
  • Contribute to a design system ensuring consistency across applications.
  • Work with developers to ensure the accurate implementation of design intent.

Qualifications

You should bring the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of UX design experience, preferably in healthcare or regulated environments.
  • Experience designing clinician-facing or medical device interfaces.
  • A strong portfolio of interaction design work, especially for complex systems.
  • Knowledge of human factors engineering standards (IEC 62366, FDA HFE guidance).
  • Experience with usability testing and risk-based design.
  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Additional Qualifications

Further qualifications would be an advantage:

  • A background in cognitive psychology, HCI, or industrial design.
  • Experience with Class II or III medical device software.
  • Familiarity with QMS integration for design outputs.
  • Exposure to ICU or critical care environments (even shadowing experience).
