W Talent is exclusively supporting a prominent engineering and manufacturing company based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, in their search for a capable Design Engineer to join their expanding technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer with a strong background in CAD to engage in technically challenging projects within a collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment.

Position Overview

The successful Design Engineer will collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver precise, project-specific designs while ensuring technical approvals throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves creating detailed engineering drawings, providing support to manufacturing and installation teams, and attending design review meetings as necessary. You will be instrumental in ensuring that designs are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with industry standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Create detailed general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, CNC drawings, and structural layouts.
• Maintain and manage project drawings using Vault.
• Support manufacturing and construction feasibility reviews.
• Generate manufacturing lists and technical documentation.
• Liaise with Sales, Contracts, Manufacturing, and Installation teams regarding technical requirements.
• Support site teams with installation and construction technical queries.
• Ensure all work complies with engineering, quality, and health & safety standards.
• Modify and update existing drawings as necessary.
• Attend internal and customer design review meetings.

Key Requirements

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Design, or a related discipline.
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor or Vault Pro.
• Strong CAD experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience working within a design engineering team.
• Ability to produce detailed technical drawings to a high standard.
• Experience working to tight deadlines across multiple projects.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and problem-solving capability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and Word.

Salary & Additional Information

The Design Engineer position is based in Rotherham, offering a competitive salary range of £30,000 to £40,000. Occasional travel to UK and overseas customer sites may be required.
