Senior Investment Advisor & Trader

Clarus Capital Group AG is an independent wealth management firm and multi-family office based in Zürich, Switzerland. We are currently seeking an experienced, proactive, and goal-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Investment Advisor & Trader. This is a full-time position (100 %) that requires a candidate with expertise in technical and fundamental analysis across equity, FX, structured products, and the commodities market, as well as experience in managing Asset Management Companies (AMCs) and advisory portfolios.

Given the nature of our business, additional responsibilities may include client onboarding, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) duties as necessary.

Your Accountabilities

  • Research of Listed Securities: Actively engage in the investment process by generating robust investment and trading ideas, which will be presented to partners and clients.
  • Portfolio Management: Support the management of client and proprietary multi-asset portfolios. Identify and select suitable investment products aligned with client objectives, develop bespoke solutions, conduct portfolio reviews, and prepare tailored investment proposals.
  • Market Contributions: Provide market views and conduct research on major currencies and interest rates, including insights into economic fundamentals.
  • Transaction Execution: Execute both electronic and manual derivative transactions for clients, encompassing OTC, structured products, and Exchange Traded options, all within established risk limits and parameters.
  • Performance Assessment: Perform daily assessments of trading performance, analyze, and back-test executed strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular performance reports and deliver insights into trading activities and market developments.

Job Requirements

  • University degree with a strong academic background in finance and derivatives.
  • Advanced financial or economic education; CFA designation or at least completion of Level 2 is required.
  • Command of banking products such as FX, IR, Equity, derivatives, structured products, securitization, and listed options, along with financial reporting and analysis skills.
  • Proficient in financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation techniques, including relative valuation and DCF.
  • Expertise in structured products and managing AMCs.
  • Proven trading experience with a verifiable track record.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in trade execution, sales trading, relationship management with a strong trading focus, or a similar role within Private Banking, Investment Banking, or Fund Management.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience or demonstrated required level of proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Swiss Bank Regulation and the onboarding process for new clients, including AML and KYC.
  • Fluency in English and Russian is mandatory.
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience in VBA or other coding is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python and BQL.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market data, trends, and pricing models for options.
  • Strong knowledge of technical analysis.
  • Proficiency in Trading Platforms: Familiarity with trading software and platforms used in the precious metals market, including the Bloomberg terminal.
