Job Overview
This position primarily involves providing holistic, evidence-based best practice care to a private individual, ensuring all needs are met in a positive, person-centered manner. The individual currently faces challenges due to a diagnosis of dementia, age-related frailties, and various health co-morbidities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement care programs; provide advice; maintain associated records, either manually or digitally.
- Carry out nursing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision to other staff.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of other staff to promote best practices in dementia care.
- In the absence of the team leader, ensure effective care delivery to the client; escalate any issues to the line manager.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport holder (or holder of a Swiss working permit).
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or European/Swiss equivalent.
- Nursing degree or equivalent.
- Completion of Best Practice in Dementia Training or the willingness to undertake this training.
- Willingness to undergo specific dementia training delivered in English.
- Additional qualifications related to dementia care, such as stress and distress training, meaningful activity, and Sage and Thyme.
- Understanding of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Commitment to developing dementia knowledge as part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Specialist dementia qualification or additional studies in related areas.
- Understanding behavior as communication and a solid knowledge of non-pharmacological interventions and strategies.
- Experience in End of Life Care and ability to develop relevant clinical skills for addressing co-morbidities.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements
- Certification as a Moving and Handling Trainer.
- Background in Beauty or Massage Therapy.
- Experience in facilitating Meaningful Activities.
Language / Essential
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- English as the first language (ideally mother tongue) and familiarity with the local dialect of Central Scotland.
- Excellent written communication in English.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals affected by dementia is required.

Specific Job Requirements
- Commitment to a shift pattern based in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended periods (preferably 10-14 days).
- Travel with the client within the UK is necessary.
- Work during unsociable hours including a sleepover arrangement, alternating nights with another staff member.
- Accompany the client to and from various venues as part of the role.
- Maintain conduct appropriate to the social standing of the client.
- Uphold confidentiality as per NMC requirements and organizational policy; a confidentiality agreement will be provided separately.
- Understand the localized culture of the client and family, considering that awareness may shift as dementia progresses.
- Housekeeping duties are also a key aspect of this position.
