Job Title: Holistic Caregiver for Individual with Dementia
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate caregiver to provide holistic, evidence-based best practice care to a private individual, focusing on her diverse needs in a positive, person-centered manner. Currently, these needs include a diagnosis of dementia, age-related frailties, and any other health co-morbidities that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assessing, planning, developing, and implementing personalized care programs; providing expert advice; and maintaining associated records, either manually or digitally.
- Carrying out nursing procedures as required and in line with clinical guidelines.
- Providing clinical supervision to other staff, promoting best practices in the care of the client with dementia.
- Directing, coordinating, and supervising the work of other staff, ensuring effective delivery of care in the absence of the team leader.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport (or valid Swiss working permit holder).
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or European/Swiss equivalent.
- Nursing degree or equivalent.
- Completion or progress towards Best Practice in Dementia Training.
- Willingness to undergo specific dementia training (e.g., Best Practice in Dementia Care), delivered in English.
- Additional qualifications related to dementia topics, including stress and distress training, meaningful activity, Sage and Thyme.
- Understanding of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Commitment to continued professional development in dementia knowledge.
- Specialist dementia qualification or additional studies in related areas.
- Knowledge of behavior as communication and non-pharmacological interventions and strategies.
- Experience in End of Life Care and relevant clinical skills for addressing co-morbidities.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements
- Training in Moving and Handling.
- Experience in Beauty/Massage Therapy.
- Expertise in Meaningful Activity.
Language Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (ideally as a first language).
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Understanding of the local dialect pertaining to Central Scotland is beneficial, as effective communication is critical for the quality of life of individuals with dementia.
Experience
A minimum of five years' experience working with people living with dementia is required.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Basic technology proficiency.
- Teaching skills for junior staff, family, and other professionals.
- Female gender is preferred for this position.
Specific Job Requirements
- Commitment to work a shift pattern based in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended periods (preferably 10-14 days) with the necessity to travel with the client within the UK.
- Availability to work unsociable hours, including a sleepover arrangement alternating nights with another staff member.
- May involve accompanying the client to and from various venues as part of the duties.
- Professional conduct that aligns with the social standing of the client.
- Strict confidentiality in line with NMC requirements and organizational regulations; a confidentiality agreement will be provided.
- Understanding the client's cultural background and its implications as dementia progresses.
- Housekeeping responsibilities are also a key component of this position.
