Tasks

Your role will involve designing the best network and schedule, as well as finding the right ticket price for the right customer at the right time. In this key position, you will conceptualize, design, and implement data-driven innovations to maximize Lufthansa Group profitability. Specifically, you will:

• Define, solve, and improve mathematical optimization models and tools for various problems (e.g., demand forecasting, price optimization, optimal network and scheduling, competitor intelligence, etc.).
• Utilize advanced data analytics, statistics, and simulations to develop practical solutions to business problems and identify revenue opportunities.
• Develop and integrate AI and automation solutions to transform and innovate our tools.
• Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations of complex information to peers, interfaces, and management.
• Manage multiple stakeholders with a clear focus on collaboration, empathy, and reaching the collective optimum.
• Progressively become a center of expertise capable of leading complex projects in the field of airline Revenue Management and Network Planning.

Requirements

• University master's degree in a quantitative field
• Proven research or work experience in using advanced machine learning algorithms, statistics, and operations research
• Hands-on experience with AI and automation emerging technologies, focusing on agentic AI solutions and protocols
• Advanced skills in programming (e.g., Python, R)
• Familiarity with modern IT tools (cloud computing platforms, workflow automation, big data, etc.)
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong business acumen; experience or interest in Revenue Management and/or Network Planning is an asset
• High level of conceptual capabilities and ability to turn analytical findings into business opportunities
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
• Highly motivated team player
• Fluency in English
