Responsibilities

In this key role, you will conceptualize, design, and implement data-driven innovations to maximize Lufthansa Group profitability. Your main tasks will include:

• Defining, solving, and improving mathematical optimization models and tools for various challenges such as demand forecasting, price optimization, optimal network scheduling, and competitor intelligence.
• Utilizing advanced data analytics, statistics, and simulations to develop practical solutions to business problems and identify revenue opportunities.
• Developing and integrating AI and automation solutions to transform and innovate our tools.
• Preparing and delivering persuasive presentations of complex information to peers, interfaces, and management.
• Managing multiple stakeholders with a focus on collaboration, empathy, and achieving collective objectives.
• Progressing to a center of expertise capable of leading complex projects in airline Revenue Management and Network Planning.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field
• Proven research or work experience with advanced machine learning algorithms, statistics, and operations research
• Hands-on experience with AI and emerging automation technologies, focusing on agentic AI solutions and protocols
• Advanced programming skills (e.g., Python, R)
• Familiarity with modern IT tools (cloud computing platforms, workflow automation, big data, etc.)
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong business acumen; experience or interest in Revenue Management and/or Network Planning is a plus
• High level of conceptual capabilities and ability to translate analytical findings into business opportunities
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
• A highly motivated team player
• Fluency in English
