Data Scientist, Product Analytics at Meta

As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our people-focused and business-oriented products across our family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. By leveraging your technical expertise, analytical mindset, and product intuition, you will work with one of the richest data sets globally to enhance experiences for billions of users and millions of businesses. You will collaborate with a diverse array of cross-functional partners from Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to tackle various product and business challenges. Your analytical skills will help identify solutions to major product development hurdles and influence strategic decisions through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with extensive and complex datasets to address a variety of challenging analytical problems using diverse statistical approaches.
  • Assess and measure the success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics to discern trends.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform and influence product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Utilize technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and data presentation to develop impactful strategies for our products serving billions.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities and strategies for product improvement, and actively contribute insights to shape product roadmaps.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
  • 2+ years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative methodologies, understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term product trends, while leading data-driven projects from conception to execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field.
