Data Scientist, Product Analytics at Meta

As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will shape the future of both people-facing and business-facing products across our diverse family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Leveraging your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition, you will work with one of the richest data sets in the world to define experiences for billions of users and millions of businesses globally. You will collaborate on a wide array of product and business challenges with various cross-functional partners from Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and more. Your analysis will help identify and tackle significant product development challenges, influencing product strategies and investment decisions while focusing on impact and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with large and complex data sets to solve challenging problems using various analytical and statistical approaches.
  • Identify and measure the success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics to gain insights into trends.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Utilize technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and data presentation to develop strategies for products serving billions of users and millions of businesses.
  • Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers for product improvement, driving roadmaps through your insights and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
  • 2+ years of experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches, understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, long-term product trends, and leading data-driven projects from definition to execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. Degree in a quantitative field.
