Data Scientist, Product Analytics at Meta

As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of both people-facing and business-facing products across our diverse family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. By leveraging your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition on one of the richest data sets in the world, you will help define experiences for billions of users and millions of businesses globally. Collaborating with a wide array of cross-functional partners—including Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance—you will tackle some of the most significant challenges in product development through data-driven analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with large and complex data sets to solve challenging problems using various analytical and statistical approaches.
  • Identify and measure the success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics to understand trends.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Utilize technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and data presentation to develop strategies that serve billions of users and millions of businesses.
  • Define, understand, and test opportunities to improve products, driving roadmaps based on your insights and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
  • 2+ years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term product trends, as well as leading data-driven projects from definition to execution (including defining metrics, experimental design, and communicating actionable insights).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field.
