Data Scientist, Product Analytics at Meta

As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of both people-facing and business-facing products across our entire family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. By leveraging your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition on one of the richest data sets in the world, you will help define experiences for billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses globally.

You will collaborate with a diverse range of cross-functional partners, including teams from Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance. Your role will involve using data and analysis to tackle the biggest challenges in product development, guiding product strategy and investment decisions while prioritizing impact across various teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with large and complex data sets to solve diverse and challenging problems using a variety of analytical and statistical approaches.
  • Identify and measure the success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics to understand trends.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Utilize technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and data presentation to develop strategies for products serving billions of users and millions of businesses.
  • Define, understand, and evaluate opportunities to enhance products, driving roadmaps through valuable insights and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
  • 2+ years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, with a strong understanding of ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term product trends. Proven experience leading data-driven projects from inception to execution, including defining metrics, experiment design, and communicating actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field.
