Job Opportunity: Data Scientist at Meta

As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of both people-facing and business-facing products across our extensive family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Leveraging your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition, you will work with one of the richest data sets in the world, helping to define experiences for billions of users and millions of businesses globally. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and more to tackle complex product and business challenges using data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize large and complex data sets to address a wide array of challenging problems through various analytical and statistical methods.
  • Employ technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, and data mining to develop impactful strategies that cater to billions of users and millions of businesses.
  • Measure the success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key metrics to discern trends.
  • Identify and test opportunities for product improvement, driving roadmaps based on your insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, and execute on product strategy and investment decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
  • 6+ years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, with a deep understanding of ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term product trends, and leading data-driven projects from inception to execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field.
