Our research group on Law, Economics, and Data Science at the Center for Law & Economics is seeking a highly motivated Data Science Research Assistant to develop and deploy a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) application that sits at the intersection of law, economics, and business. This full-time position (80-100%) will run from June 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025, with the possibility of continuing on a part-time basis afterward. You will collaborate closely with our research team to implement a new version of our RAG-based chatbot.
You will be responsible for the development and deployment of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) application that integrates the fields of law, economics, and business. Your work will involve implementing a new version of our RAG-based chatbot in collaboration with our dedicated research team.
The ideal candidate will be a computer or data science student or possess extensive practical programming experience. Proficiency in the German language is advantageous, as the retrieved documents will be in German. Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and/or RAG deployment, particularly using the Azure OpenAI service, is highly beneficial. A keen interest in social sciences and law is also desirable.
