Role Synopsis
We are seeking an Oil Strategist with deep expertise in crude oil and preferably refined products. The ideal candidate will have robust analytical skills, a comprehensive understanding of energy markets, and the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis of global crude oil and refined product markets.
- Monitor and interpret geopolitical, regulatory, and macroeconomic developments affecting oil markets.
- Develop and maintain quantitative models, including time series and regression analysis.
- Analyze physical market trends, encompassing production, transportation, storage, and refining.
- Collaborate closely with the investment team to provide real-time market insights and trade ideas.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and market outlooks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Energy Studies, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in oil market analysis, energy trading, or commodities research.
- Strong understanding of crude oil supply chains, refining economics, and logistics.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
- Experience with standard data science tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and a passion for energy markets.
