Job Title: Creation Director Europe

As the Creation Director for Europe, you will lead Givaudan's flavour creation community to develop market-relevant flavour solutions that drive business growth and strengthen customer partnerships. This role involves inspiring teams, shaping strategy, and transforming creative concepts into high-impact commercial successes.

You will be based in our Innovation Center in Kemptthal and report directly to the Head of Regional Innovation Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Define and guide Europe's flavour growth strategy with cross-regional input.
  • Enhance leadership in high-growth market segments by identifying competitive advantages and opportunities.
  • Identify technical ingredient gaps and collaborate with partners to address them.
  • Articulate and communicate your strategic vision for the flavour creation community, ensuring agreement and enthusiasm across teams and partners.

Innovation & Development

  • Collaborate with S&T, Product Management, Product Development, Marketing, and Regulatory teams to test and launch new value propositions.
  • Create flavour and taste formulations using advanced tools and functional ingredients.
  • Integrate innovations into compelling, customer-ready solutions.
  • Champion a forward-looking roadmap that energizes teams and positions Givaudan as a clear market leader.

Execution and Customer Engagement

  • Serve as a credible ambassador for the European flavour creation vision, showcasing both technical excellence and creative leadership.
  • Provide technical input for customer briefs and promote co-creation to expedite time to market.
  • Present creative and technical concepts to customers and partners.
  • Oversee the Flavourist School and creation training programs.

Knowledge & Systems

  • Ensure communication channels and best practices align with the creation community's shared purpose, fostering coherence and pride across the network.
  • Become the internal and external subject-matter expert in high-growth flavour domains.
  • Encourage technical knowledge sharing and improve digital creation tools and systems.

People and Talent Leadership

  • Lead and represent the entire European flavour creation community.
  • Inspire and motivate diverse teams by conveying a vision for excellence and driving innovation leadership.
  • Build talent pipelines and share best practices globally.
  • Train creation team members on new ingredients and technologies.

Professional Profile

  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Flavour Technology, Sensory Science, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in flavour creation, development, or R&D with cross-functional leadership.
  • Previous experience in a flavour company (mandatory), with expertise in raw materials, formulation, sensory evaluation, and scale-up.
  • Excellent market awareness, regulatory knowledge, and customer insight skills.
  • Creative and experimental mindset with a willingness to embrace new technologies.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial value stories.
  • Recognized for articulating an engaging vision and inspiring teams with clarity and purpose.
  • Business fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
