Job Title: Creation Director Europe

As the Creation Director for Europe, you will lead Givaudan's flavour creation community in developing market-relevant flavour solutions aimed at enhancing business growth and strengthening customer partnerships. Your role will encompass inspiring teams, shaping strategies, and transforming creative concepts into impactful commercial successes.

This exciting opportunity is based at our Innovation Center in Kemptthal, where you will report directly to the Head of Regional Innovation Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Define and guide Europe's flavour growth strategy with cross-regional input.
  • Strengthen leadership in high-growth market segments by identifying competitive advantages and opportunities.
  • Identify technical ingredient gaps and collaborate with partners to address them.
  • Articulate and communicate your strategic vision for the evolution and distinction of the flavour creation community in the market, ensuring agreement and enthusiasm across teams and partners.

Innovation & Development

  • Collaborate with Science & Technology, Product Management, Product Development, Marketing, and Regulatory teams to test and launch new value propositions.
  • Create flavour and taste formulations using advanced tools and functional ingredients.
  • Integrate innovations into compelling, customer-ready solutions.
  • Champion and communicate a forward-looking roadmap that empowers and energizes teams, positioning Givaudan as market leaders.

Execution and Customer Engagement

  • Act as a visible and credible ambassador for the European flavour creation vision, representing both technical excellence and creative leadership to all partners.
  • Lead the technical input for customer briefs, promoting co-creation to accelerate market readiness.
  • Present creative and technical concepts to customers and partners.
  • Oversee the Flavourist School and creation training programs.

Knowledge & Systems

  • Ensure communication channels and best practices reflect the shared purpose of the creation community, fostering coherence and pride across the network.
  • Be the internal and external subject-matter expert in high-growth flavour domains.
  • Promote the sharing of technical knowledge and enhance digital creation tools and systems.

People and Talent Leadership

  • Lead and represent the entire European flavour creation community.
  • Inspire, motivate, and engage diverse teams by conveying a vision for excellence and driving innovation leadership.
  • Build talent pipelines and share best practices globally.
  • Train creation team members in the region on new ingredients and technologies.

Professional Profile

  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Flavour Technology, Sensory Science, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in flavour creation/development/R&D with cross-functional leadership.
  • Previous experience in a flavour company (mandatory), with expertise in raw materials, formulation, sensory evaluation, and scale-up.
  • Excellent market awareness, regulatory knowledge, and customer insight skills.
  • A creative, experimental mindset with a readiness to embrace new technologies.
  • Proficient in translating complex technical concepts into clear commercial value stories.
  • Able to articulate an engaging vision and influence diverse audiences, inspiring teams with clarity and purpose.
  • Business fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
