Main Tasks:
- Lead and support R&D projects while generating knowledge through comprehensive trials in fermentation and throughout all levels of the chocolate manufacturing process.
- Plan and prepare trials effectively.
- Conduct and evaluate trials systematically.
- Master analytical measurements related to fermentation processes.
- Contribute to scientific research and, if necessary, write papers for publication.
- Scale up processes from pilot plants to full factory operations.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- University Degree in Food Science.
- PhD in Food Science with a thesis focused on fermentation.
- Expertise in analytical techniques for analyzing volatile compounds.
- Experience in bean-to-bar chocolate production is essential.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge and at least 2-3 years of practical lab-scale fermentation experience, including upstream conditions and the analysis of resulting compounds.
- Strong background in chemistry, biotechnology, and laboratory techniques.
- Effective communication skills for conveying complex technical information, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in data analysis software for processing, interpreting, and visualizing complex datasets.
- Understanding sensory evaluation techniques.
- Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- A passion for start-ups and ingredient science.
- Strategic thinker and fast learner.
Language Requirements:
- Fluent in English – written and spoken.
- German is a plus.
Future Development:
There is flexibility to relocate to other Lindt & Sprüngli production sites in the future.
