Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and support R&D projects, conducting trials in the fermentation field and throughout all levels of the chocolate manufacturing process.
- Plan and prepare trials to ensure successful outcomes.
- Conduct and evaluate trials, mastering analytical measurements.
- Prepare papers for publication as required.
- Scale-up processes from pilot plant to factory.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct scientific research and contribute to knowledge generation.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- University Degree in Food Science.
- PhD in Food Science, with a thesis focused on fermentation.
- Expertise in analytical techniques for analyzing volatile compounds.
- Experience in bean-to-bar chocolate production is essential.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience of at least 2-3 years in lab-scale fermentation, including upstream conditions and the analysis of resulting compounds.
- Strong background in chemistry, biotechnology, and laboratory techniques.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex technical information.
- Proficient in data analysis software for processing and visualizing complex datasets.
- Solid understanding of sensory evaluation techniques.
- Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about start-ups and ingredient science.
- Strategic thinker and quick learner.
Language Requirements:
- Fluent in English – both written and spoken.
- German is a plus.
Future Development:
There will be flexibility to relocate to other Lindt & Sprüngli production sites in the future.
