The "Gourmet Island Café Knaus" is a premier destination for connoisseurs in the Mittelland region. As an emerging company, we pride ourselves on offering natural, fresh, and high-quality products accompanied by friendly service. In the inviting atmosphere of our café & restaurant, guests delight in seasonal and regional delicacies, as well as sweet treats from our bakery & pastry shop. With 170 indoor seats and an additional 180 outdoor seats, we cater to our guests for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon snacks, and dinner—our dedication to exceptional service has long been a hallmark of Café Knaus. Our shop features a selection of oven-fresh baked goods and delicious sweets, and we also facilitate orders and delivery.

Position Available: Cook (m/f)

We are seeking a flexible, passionate, and resilient cook to join our 6-member kitchen team, in an 80 - 100% position.

Your Areas of Responsibility:

• Main task: Brightening our guests' day and ensuring their happiness!
• Mise en place and preparation of daily menus, serving 100-150 dishes during lunch service.
• Work primarily at the stove (Saucier/Entremetier) and also at the pass or in the cold kitchen (Gardemanger).
• Mise en place and preparation of à la carte dishes and seasonal specials.
• Sending dishes adhering to the "Café Knaus Quality Standard."
• Proposing innovative ideas for daily menus.
• Participating in dishwashing and cleaning tasks (team cooperation is valued).
• Implementing our hygiene and occupational safety standards.
• Acting as sous chef when needed, providing leadership in the absence of the head chef.

Your Work Schedule:

• 4 - 5 days a week (dependent on workload), with a 42-hour work week at 100%.
• Variable days off; weekend shifts include 1 Sunday and 1 Saturday off per month.
• 5 weeks of vacation with various shift options: 08:00-17:00 / 11:00-21:00 / 09:00-19:00 / 16:00-23:00.

Requirements:

You should be a passionate cook with a flexible approach and the ability to work efficiently under high-quality standards. Daily challenges motivate you, and you thrive in a collaborative team environment that embodies the spirit of our company. Fluency in German is essential, and you are comfortable working on weekends. Proximity to Oensingen is preferred, and your resilience, along with a sprinkle of humor, helps you manage the busy periods effectively. A federal "Certificate of Competence as a cook EFZ or EBA or extensive professional experience" is required, as we seek a candidate looking for a long-term and fair employment relationship.
