Contracts Management Specialist

Behind every satellite that reaches orbit lies a meticulously managed chain of contracts, proposals, and negotiations that must adhere to federal regulations. Our client is seeking a Contracts Management Specialist to spearhead proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and contract administration across a portfolio of national security space programs, collaborating closely with US Government customers.

The Role

As the Contracts Management Specialist, you will engage directly with customers and business partners throughout the proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and contract administration phases for a range of programs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Examining requirements and analyzing terms and conditions to assess risk.
  • Reviewing Basis of Estimates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Processing contractual documentation and advising management on contractual rights and obligations.
  • Maintaining historical records and preparing regular reports.
  • Supporting shipment, billing, and payment processes, as well as interfacing with the DCMA as needed.
  • Preparing supporting documentation, such as proprietary information agreements, associate contractor agreements, and export licenses.
  • Interpreting FAR guidance and managing flow downs across various contract types.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 5 or more years of contract-related experience.
  • Working knowledge of the FAR and DFARS alongside a fundamental understanding of pre-award and post-award federal contracting practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Experience with multiple contract types including cost-plus, fixed price, and time and materials.
  • US Citizenship with an active Top Secret clearance (active within the last 24 months).

What Sets Candidates Apart

  • Demonstrated ability to manage moderately complex contract administration tasks and support competitive proposal development with minimal supervision.
  • Experience collaborating with commercial partners in the defense industry.
  • Experience working with the government as a prime contractor, ideally for the Department of Defense.
  • Experience with Other Transaction Agreements (OTA).
  • Familiarity with CostPoint.
