Consultant Engineer Opportunity in Paris Operations Engineering Team

We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity to join the Paris Operations Engineering team as a Consultant Engineer, based in Switzerland and reporting to the Group Manager of Field Engineering.

Role Responsibilities

The Consultant Engineer will play a critical role in partnering with our clients to understand their businesses and assist them in preventing and controlling losses. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with clients to identify and assess hazards at their locations through on-site loss prevention evaluations, focusing on both physical and human element exposures.
  • Quantifying exposures accurately to ensure that the Account Team understands the implications for the business.
  • Implementing measures to ensure the operational functionality of protective equipment, thereby maximizing opportunities for loss mitigation.
  • Engaging with local clients to confirm the identification of hazards and their potential business impacts.
  • Facilitating practical on-site risk improvements, including human element and maintenance programs, as well as affordable physical enhancements.
  • Demonstrating the added value of our engineering capabilities and developing innovative methods, alongside Account Engineering, to educate clients on loss prevention.
  • Identifying and addressing upcoming changes that may introduce new exposures, and providing high-quality plan review services for medium complexity changes to integrate proper loss prevention considerations at the design stage.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • A background in loss prevention Field Engineering.
  • A self-starter attitude with a problem-solving mindset and a dedication to improving risk management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational prowess, and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Fluency in German, English, and French (both written and oral). Proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
  • A willingness to travel, primarily within an assigned geographical area, but also across the operational territory.
