Join Our Team as a Consultant Engineer
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our Paris Operations Engineering team as a Consultant Engineer, based in Switzerland. This position reports directly to the Group Manager of Field Engineering.
About the Role
The Consultant Engineer will play a crucial role in collaborating with our clients to understand their businesses and assist them in preventing and controlling losses. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Partnering with clients to thoroughly understand their operations while identifying potential hazards at their locations.
- Conducting on-site loss prevention evaluations to identify foreseeable physical and human element exposures associated with various perils.
- Accurately quantifying exposures at client locations, ensuring that the Account Team focuses adequately on the risks and their impact on business operations.
- Implementing appropriate measures to ensure the operational functionality of protective equipment at client locations, maximizing loss mitigation opportunities while maintaining protection systems.
- Facilitating local client understanding and agreement on identified hazards and exposures and their potential business impact.
- Achieving practical and effective on-site risk improvements, including human element maintenance programs and cost-effective physical enhancements, while planning for higher capital improvements in alignment with Account Engineering.
- Demonstrating the value-added differential of our engineering capabilities and educating clients on effective loss prevention methods.
- Identifying impending changes that may introduce new exposures and providing timely, high-quality plan review services to ensure proper loss prevention considerations at the design stage.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- A degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- A background in loss prevention field engineering.
- A self-starter mentality with a problem-solving orientation and a genuine desire to improve risk management.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent analytical thinking capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, negotiation, and presentation aptitudes.
- Fluency in German, English, and French, both written and oral; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
- The role requires travel primarily within an assigned geographical area but may also include travel across the operational territory.
