Job Opportunity: Consultant Engineer
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Paris Operations Engineering team as a Consultant Engineer, based in Switzerland. This position reports to the Group Manager of Field Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves:
- Collaborating with clients to understand their businesses and assisting them in preventing and controlling losses.
- Identifying hazards at client locations: conducting on-site loss prevention evaluations to uncover all reasonably foreseeable physical and human element exposures.
- Accurately quantifying exposures to ensure that the Account Team provides appropriate attention to the exposure's impact on the business.
- Implementing measures to guarantee the operational functionality of protective equipment at client locations, maximizing loss mitigation opportunities and maintaining protection systems at all times.
- Engaging local clients to understand and agree on discovered hazards/exposures and their potential business impacts.
- Achieving practical on-site risk improvements, including human element/maintenance programs and cost-effective physical enhancements, while developing plans for high-capital improvement recommendations in alignment with Account Engineering.
- Demonstrating the value-added benefits of the company's engineering capabilities, and, in collaboration with Account Engineering, innovatively educating clients on appropriate loss prevention strategies.
- Identifying and preparing for upcoming changes to mitigate associated exposures, providing high-quality plan reviews for medium complexity changes to ensure loss prevention considerations are integrated at the design stage.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have:
- A degree in Chemical Engineering, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience.
- A background in Loss Prevention Field Engineering.
- A self-starter attitude, problem-solving mindset, and a genuine desire to enhance risk management.
- High attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and strong analytical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and presentation capabilities.
- Fluency in German, English, and French (both written and oral); additional European languages are a plus.
- The role requires travel primarily within an assigned geographical area, as well as throughout the operational territory.
